Warwick Barsey Hotel (lounge)

The Warwick Barsey Hotel (four stars) very near the Ter Kamerenbos/Bois de la Cambre is not just another branch of some boring hotel chain. Although the interior of the stately building on the Louizalaan/avenue Louise, designed by Jacques Garcia (see also Fouquet’s in Paris or the Majestic in Cannes), was only finished recently, you can easily imagine the carriage of Leopold II driving by as you sit inside. Red velvet, heavy carpets, lampshades with ruches, caryatids that support the low plasterwork on the ceiling, etc. The covered patio and spacious terrasse with greenery and water features are great assets in fine weather.
