In typical Brussels irony, the grubby setting of ‘dirty boulevard’ Adolphe Max has not prevented the prestigious Le Plaza hotel from
thriving. In fact the nature of the surrounding establishments, favoured by a different breed of clientele, merely serves to enhance the impression made on the visitor by this creation by architect Michel Polak, dating from 1930.
